On the way to work...

Since getting the camera I have packed it up each morning and taken it off to work, today for the first time there was something worth pointing the camera at – inspired by the great Ansel, this is called “Sunrise over Teignmouth” – not quite in the realm of the great man, but first impressions were very good...

First couple of images - Teignmouth sunrise, river Teign, Shaldon and the Ness

Panorama of the bay

Zoomed in, taken at 30.5mm or 140mm equiv - full reach...

My first post - testing my new G11 camera...

My digital camera history started with a Canon D10, I quickly fell in love with the digital experience and moved up to the original Canon 1D, Mark II and eventually a 1D MarkIIN – I have taken thousands of pictures with those cameras and they still meet most of my photographic needs.

Recently I wanted to try something different, after a lot of soul searching and chasing articles on the net I decided to go for a Canon G11. After a shaky start and getting a camera with a couple of dead pixels, I have eventually ended up with a clean model which I have started testing.

Photo of the camera, sporting a nice new leather case...

Full frontal - must admit I love the look of this camera...
